SAVE THE MEADOW

We have now formed a Community Interest Company to own the meadow. This means that it is owned by the community in the interests of the community. We are managing the meadow to become a wild flower haven for insects and wildlife and retain the public footpath through it. There will be cut of the grass by a team of scythers in August and September.

Love it? Save it...

One of Ludlow’s last wild meadows is threatened by urban development, and nearly an acre of rare green space, as well as an ancient right of way, will be lost to the community for ever.

The Little Meadow on Castle View Terrace has been a haven for wildflowers and insects, a nursery for new lambs in springtime, and a beautiful amenity for local people and visitors, since time immemorial. It also helps capture carbon, and to slow the flow of heavy rain down to the River Corve.

Now Shropshire Homes intend to build  houses and parking spaces on this untouched ground. Planning permission has been refused but we hear that they are intending to appeal.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Please help us to protect it.
